Dipolog City offers skills training to residents

DIPOLOG CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 16, 2009) – The City Government of Dipolog in Mindanao’s Zamboanga del Norte province said it would provide free technical and vocational training to locals to help them earn a descent living, government media said on Thursday.

It said the Livelihood Skills Development Enhancement Center (LSDEC) is offering summer short-term courses on masonry, carpentry and plumbing among others.

The LSDEC also is offering vocational courses under the so-called Pangulong Gloria Scholarship Program.

The LSDEC is one of the projects of Mayor Evelyn Uy who partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Zamboanga del Norte Rep. Rosendo Labadlabad. (Mindanao Examiner)
