ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 23, 2010) – Security forces arrested two suspected Moro Islamic Liberation Front rebels blamed for indiscriminate attacks in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, officials said Monday.
Officials said the two were arrested on Saturday in the eastern coast of Zamboanga City where provincial buses and private vehicles had been attacked in the past.
“The two are suspects in strafing incidents in Zamboanga highway,” said Army Lieutenant Santiago Baluyot, commander of a military anti-terror task force.
Police said criminal charges had been filed in a local court against the two rebels, who are also included in the military’s order of battle. (Mindanao Examiner)
