US Condoles With Slide Victims!



The United States extends its sincere condolences to the people of the Philippines in the wake of the deadly landslide on February 17.

At the request of the Philippine government and the Philippine National Red Cross, the U.S. government continues to provide assistance and support relief operations following landslides in Southern Leyte.
U.S. military and civilian agencies are working closely with Philippine counterparts to determine how U.S. assets can best be used in the affected area.

The fundamental mission of U.S. recovery efforts is to save lives and sustain lives by providing humanitarian relief – search and rescue, evacuation, medical support, transport and logistics.

The U.S. will continue to work closely with the National Disaster Coordinating Council, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Red Cross and other national and local authorities on this recovery response.
