We condemn the killing of Palawan radio commentator Fernando Batul, who was shot dead Monday morning by two gunmen in Puerto Princesa City on his way to work.
Batul, who worked with radio station dyPR, escaped two grenade attacks April 24 from unidentified men who tossed the explosives into his home, but did not explode.

He was the fifth journalist to be killed this year.
Radio station dzMM reported that two men riding tandem on a motorcycle drove up to Batul who was on his way to the radio station in Valencia Street around 6 a.m. and opened fire using 9mm and .45 automatic pistols, killing him instantly.
