MANILA - President Gloria Arroyo on Saturday called on Filipinos to support the administration candidates for the May 14 elections and promising more secure jobs and progress for citizens.
"The May elections are about our future. That is why I am asking you to support our candidates in the Senate. They will be my partners in uplifting the lives of the Filipinos," Arroyo said during a proclamation rally in Lingayen town in the northern Pangasinan province.
Her ticket, called TEAM Unity, is composed of re-electionist Edgardo Angara, Joker Arroyo and Tessie Oreta; Mike Defensor, Vic Magsaysay, Cesar Montano, Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, Prospero Pichay, Luis Singson, Vicente Sotto and Miguel Zubiri.
Pangasinan is the second vote-rich province in the country, next only to Cebu, with some 1.3 million voters. (Mindanao Examiner)
