Metro Kutawato Distributes Farm Equipment In Mindanao

COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / 22 Mar) - The Metro Kutawato Development Alliance or MKDA on Thursday handed over assorted farm equipment and production inputs to its member-local government units during a ceremony held in Cotabato City in southern Philippines.

Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema, MKDA executive chairman, spearheaded the distribution of the farm inputs consisting of 500 bags of open pollinated variety (OPV) corn seedlings, 16 units of jetmatic pumps and 4 units of mobile rice mill.
And also 27 units of knapsack sprayer, 6 units of floating tiller, 500 bags of urea, 500 bags of 16-20-00 fertilizer and 200 sets of foliar fertilizer The equipment and inputs will be used by farmers in the member-municipalities of Datu Piang, Sultan Kudarat, Parang, Kabuntalan, Talayan and Talitay.

Three other local government units -- Cotabato City, Upi and Datu Odin Sinsuat towns -- had already received their share from the project which is greatly supported by the Department of Agriculture. Sema emphasized before the beneficiaries that MKDA has gone a long way since its inception in 1999.
He said several assistance were already received by all the members of the alliance. Parang town Mayor Talib Abo and Kabuntalan town Mayor Salaban Diocolano, who were also present in the occasion, expressed gratitude to Sema for the new farm equipment.
They said the tools will go directly to their farmers. Other personalities who attended the distribution program were DAF-ARMM Asst. Sec. Haron Bandila, DENR Dir. Danny Andamen, City Councilor Anwar Malang and municipal agriculture officers. (Dong Cusain)

This is excellent. There are better way of doing things. We must move on for more productive and efficient ways. Agriculture must further industrialized. So, the farmers must lift their status in the society and standard of living. Especially, the countries are switching from oil to renewable energy. Agriculture must lay the ground work to handle the demand. Farm is where the money is going.
