Cops Finally Tag Real Culprits In Davao Massacre!

DAVAO CITY – Police filed multiple murder charges against four people, including a tribal chieftain and his son, for the killing of four members of farming family in the southern Philippines.

Police said the four were behind the murder of Fernando Gonzaga, his wife, Fe and their two children, Ritchel and Ferdinand in the village of Dalagdag in the outskirts of Davao City’s Calinan district. They were killed on April 9.

Military officials earlier said the killings were the handiwork of the New People’s Army rebels.
But police said several witnesses pointed to the four men as the culprits in the murder and that family feud was the motive behind the attack. The victims were all shot in their sleep, police said.

Police said it launched a manhunt for the arrest of the suspects who went into hiding. The motive of the killings were believed to be family feud.

The NPA has strongly criticized the military for blaming the rebel group on the killings. It said government soldiers had killed innocent civilians accused as rebel sympathizers and then blamed the NPA for the murder.(Romy Bwaga)
