DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / 24 Jul) – A postman, abandoned by his wife, shot himself inside their house in Davao City in the southern Philippines, police said on Tuesday.
Police said the man shot himself with a .38-caliber revolver in their house in the village of Mintal over the weekend.
His wife, a physician, left him for a still unknown reason, police said, quoting the man’s neighbors. It was unknown whether the couple had children.
Police said a man was also shot dead the same day by an unidentified assailant in the village of Indangan, but the attack seemed unrelated.
The man, apparently jobless, was sleeping on a passenger’s waiting shed when he was attacked, police said, adding, the motive of the killing is still unknown. (Romy Bwaga)
