Quake Rattles Southern Philippines

COTABATO CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / 20 Aug) – A powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 in the Richter scale shook Mindanao on Monday, about 730 miles from southeast of Manila, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred near Davao in Mindanao island, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damages to structure.

It said the tremor was reported at 13:46:25.00 UTC (9:46:18 p.m. local time) about 227 miles east-southeast of Davao and 247 miles east of General Santos. (Mindanao Examiner)
