PAGADIAN CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / 16 Sept) - President Gloria Arroyo is expected to visit Pagadian City in the southern Zamboanga del Sur province on Monday to lead officials in the inauguration of government projects.
Arroyo’s arrival coincides with the 55th anniversary of the province where she will inaugurate the Agro-Tourism and Heritage Complex and also unveil the Megayon marker at the provincial government complex, according to the Philippine News Agency.
She will also announce a P32.5 million rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads and a P25 million communal irrigation system in the province under the Mindanao Rural Improvement Project.
Arroyo will also give a speech on the launching of the 3rd Biyahe Na Zambo Sur, an annual exposition showcasing the tourism attractions in the province and the Megayon Festival, a celebration of peace and solidarity which features the age-old traditions and customs of the local people.
