11 Organizations Join Consortium

MAKATI CITY, Philippines – At least 11 organizations, representing almost a million members in the Philippines, have joined the Inter-Charity Network (ICN), a consortium of different organizations that are either providing or receiving charity, for their members or beneficiaries.

The new ICN members are Sama-Kabuhayan Movement (3,000 members), Agro-Amigo Movement (10 members), Bagwis Responsible Taxi Drivers Association (400 members), OFW Family Club (500,000 members), Camiling Cattlemen’s Association (70 members), Tarlac Handicapped Association (50 members), Citizen’s Foundation for the Prevention of Crime and Injustice (350,000 members), Mindanao One Movement (40,000 members), Timpuyog Ti Ilocano (15,000 members), Government Union for Integration of Differently-abled Employees (46 members) and Tahanang Walang Hagdanan (850 members).

ICN chairman Ike Seneres, in a statement, said that aside from the usual services of providing employment and entrepreneurship assistance to members, the consortium is now providing discounted goods and services, so that members could save money on their purchases, and also make some money if they want to re-sell these items.

He said that these goods and services include discounted cell phone loads, internet access, grocery items and transport services. He said that goods from Unilever and Kimberly Clark may now be ordered from ICN at prices below the suggested retail price (SRP).
