ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 13, 2007) – A young man arrested on burglary charges is in serious condition after jumping from a police building in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
The suspect broke into the Ateneo University on Wednesday and stole several bags of grade school students on the 3rd floor where he was arrested and handed over to the police.
At the police station, he jumped from the 2nd floor while waiting for investigators and broke his head. A boy who witnessed the incident said the suspect suddenly jumped out of the window.
The man was seriously injured and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
it was unknown how the man was able to enter the Ateneo University in broad daylight despite a strict security at the entrance. The breach in security in one of the city's most expensive schools has alarmed many parents. (Mindanao Examiner)
