DAVAO CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / September 12, 2008) – A fire fighter was killed and two others wounded after their truck overturned in the southern Philippines, officials said on Friday.
Officials said the fire fighters were heading to the village of Masara in Compostela Valley’s Maco town on Thursday to aid landslide victims when the accident occurred.
Fire officer Lino Sumodebila was pinned to death while his companions Zonilo Postrero, the driver of the fire engine and Ephraim Cozo, were wounded from the crash in the village of Tuboran in Mawab town.
Officials said the driver lost control of the wheel and the truck overturned. (Romy Bwaga)
