Photo: Sarangani And The B'laans

Michelle Solon, president of Sarangani Tourism Industry Association, mingles with B’laan children during the weekend in the village of Datal Tampal in Malungon town. The rich culture and traditions of the B’laan are passed on to children in Sitio Lamlifew where the pilot School of Living Traditions has been established. And master weavers of the Tribal Women Association of Sitio Lamlifew show their skills in making B’laan clothes. Abaca is the main raw material and pigments used in the weaving are from roots of Kanalum and Lagu trees. Malungon is also famous for its bamboo cottages located at the back of the municipal hall.
