Indian Trader Held-Up In Zamboanga Sur Province

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 21, 2008) – An Indian trader sought police help after he was held up by two gunmen in the town of Mahayag in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur.

Police said Hammed Haridun, 37, was driving his motorbike when flagged down by two armed men on Tuesday morning on a highway. Haridun said the two men, armed with a .45-caliber pistols, took his mobile phone and P21,000 in cash.

The armed men escaped after taking the money. Police said Haridun is into buy and sell business and married to a local woman in Pagadian City. (Erico Rosco)
