DAVAO CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 19, 2008) – Unidentified armed men shot and killed a port supervisor in Davao City in the southern Philippines, police said.
Police said Rhuel Poliquit, 38, was shot at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday while driving his car on his way home along Kilometer 19 in Tibungco village. The gunmen escaped on a motorcycle after the shooting.
Poliquit was the supervisor of Sumifro Wharf in Tibungco. The port is mainly for ships loading and unloading bananas, both for export and local consumption.Killings are almost a daily occurrence in Davao City. (Romy Bwaga)
