Photo: Government Vehicles In Zamboanga City

A government vehicle (SDK-981) in Zamboanga City in Mindanao is spotted with civilian passengers. Government vehicles are strictly for official use only, but many of these cars are also being used for personal purposes also in Zamboanga City. President Gloria Arroyo issued an order restricting the use of government vehicles and asked the public to report state employees and officials who use these cars beyond official trips.

The directive was embodied in Administrative Order (AO) 239 signed by then acting Executive Secretary Jesus G. Dureza on Sept. 15.

The public may report unofficial use of government vehicles by letter to the Presidential Action Center along Arlegui St., San Miguel, Manila, or through text message at 0919-8984621, 0919-8984622, 0919-8984623, 0917-8398462, 0917898-2462 and 0917-8985462.

“The report shall contain, among others, the type of vehicle, plate number, and the place and time where the government vehicle is found, preferably with pictures,” the order said. (Mindanao Examiner Photo)
