Dozens Hurt In Zamboanga Road Collision

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 08, 2009) – Two trucks transporting construction workers collided in the southern Philippine port city of Zamboanga and police said as many as four dozen people were hurt in the accident.

Police said the accident occurred Saturday afternoon in the village of Manicahan. It said the driver of one of trucks tried to overtake a motorcycle, but collided head on with another truck along the Maria Clara Lobregat highway.

Radio reports said the victims were rushed to hospitals for fractures and bruises and that the police are still investigating the accident. (Mindanao Examiner)
