ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 18, 2009) - It will be a shining moment for Eliezer E. Estrecho when he delivers his valedictory address before fellow graduates and guests during the 64th Commencement Exercises of the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) on March 24 and 26 in Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City.
To graduate magna cum laude in Bachelor of Science in Physics, Estrecho has been a consistent scholar of the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
He hails from Ayala village here and finished his elementary grades at the Sta. Clara Elementary School in Zamboanga Sibugay and his secondary education from the Ayala National High School.
A son of a carpenter and a dressmaker, Estrecho dreams of living a simple and happy life. Very unassuming, Estrecho says that he used to study class lessons in advance to satisfy his curiosity.
His other interests include listening to music, playing the piano and nature-trekking.
Over 1,200 students will graduate this year from WMSU. On March 24, graduates from the following colleges will march to receive their diplomas - Colleges of Agriculture, Education, Home Economics, Liberal Arts and Law.
On March 26 will be the graduation day for graduates from the Colleges of Architecture; Criminal Justice Education; Engineering; Forestry; Science and Mathematics; Social Work and Community Development; Asian and Islamic Studies; Physical Education, Recreation and Sports; and Public Administration and Development Studies.
