10 injured after van falls off cliff in Mindanao

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / May 21, 2009) – A commuter van fell from a cliff Thursday inuring 10 passengers in the southern Philippines, police said.

Police said the van’s driver, Wilfredo Abiar, 33, apparently lost control of the wheel in Kidapawan City.

The injured passengers were rushed to the local hospital for treatment. Police released the names of those injured as Jeffrey Kisam, 23; Josephine Magno, 23; Leonides Soriano, 79; Joel Gutierez, 59; Geraldine Tonod, 38; Alfred Nablo, 20; Rod Bryner Noveno, 19; Rovlyn Bermiro, 28 and Arne Soriano, 10.
