Woman hurt in Kidapawan road accident

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / May 12, 2009) – A woman was hurt on Tuesday after a passenger jeep rammed her motorcycle in Kidapawan City in North Cotabato province in Mindanao, police said.

Police said the woman, Honey Espeso, was rushed to hospital after the accident that occurred at around 3.30 p.m.

The jeep driver, Joel Ama, said he did not notice the motorcycle and blamed the narrow road for the mishap. His passengers said they screamed at the driver to stop the jeep because the woman was pinned underneath the vehicle.

The accident caused a traffic jam along Quezon Boulevard. Senior Police Officer 1 Raymundo Lam-an, of the local police force, investigated the driver. It was unknown if Ama would be charged with reckless driving. (Giovani Solmerano)
