B'laan natives show skills in Malong weaving


Ethnic B’laan weavers Wednesday, June 17, 2009 make a piece of cloth called “malong” the traditional way with the use of colorful threads during the 40th founding anniversary of Malapatan town which coincided with the celebration of the 4th Pakaradyan Festival which will culminate on June 21. Malong symbolizes the harmonious relationships of the Muslims, Christians and tribal people in Malapatan. Pakaradyan is a Maguindanaon term which means “thanksgiving” or “celebration.” (Photo by Cocoy Sexcion)
