House cites growth of Jesus is Lord Movement


MANILA, Philippines - Speaker Prospero Nograles led the House of Representatives in congratulating Brother Eddie Villanueva and the Jesus is Lord Movement on the celebration of the JIL’s 31st anniversary on Sunday.

The House of Representatives official recognition of the JIL’s contributions to the social and religious well being of Filipinos is contained in House Resolution No. 1435 authored by Nograles himself and adopted last Wednesday.

The Jesus is Lord Movement is a Pentecostal movement in the Philippines headed by its founder, Brother Eddie as he is fondly called, which started in 1978 with 15 members, now has approximately six million members with about 10,000 local congregations nationwide.

Under Brother Eddie’s leadership, the JIL has grown to establish 2,500 services worldwide in more than 1,000 churches, including 365 chapters in the National Capital Region and 45 international chapters in the United States, Canada, Middle East, North America and neighboring Asian countries.
