2 killed in gun attack in Kidapawan City

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / November 18, 2009) – An unidentified gunman shot and killed two persons in a broad daylight attack near a police station in Kidapawan City in the southern Philippines.

Police said the victims were onboard a motorcycle taxi when one of two men on a motorcycle opened fire at them at around 9:40 in the morning. The attack occurred just a hundred meter away from a police station.

The assailants, both wearing crash helmets, fled after the shooting.

Police said it is investigating the murders and would not give details about motive of the attack. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the twin killings. (Geo Solmerano)
