Memorial Mass Set For Victims Of Maguindanao Massacre

Memorial Mass in Honor of 30 Media Martyrs in the Philippines December 2, 2009 at Saint Patrick Church, San Francisco, Calif.

SAN FRANCISCO (U.S. ASIAN WIRE) - The Philippine American Press Club USA, together with concerned journalists, invite everyone to a memorial mass for the 30 Filipino journalists who were massacred together with 27 innocent civilians in Maguindanao, Philippines last Monday, November 23rd.

Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Church on Mission and 4th Street in San Francisco. A short program will follow immediately after the mass. Invited speakers are Greg Macabenta (Filipino journalist and National Chair of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations); Yolanda Ortega Stern, President, One World Institute; Odette Keeley, Chief of Staff, News Anchor & Producer, New America Media; Phil Bronstein, Executive Editor of San Francisco Chronicle; and others still to be announced. Emil Guillermo, columnist, will be the master of ceremonies. Everyone is invited to attend and show concern regarding the plight of Filipino journalists, and pray that justice will be done.
