Philippine Army praises Mindanao governor

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 1, 2010) – The Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division on Friday honored the governor of North Cotabato province for her local peace and security programs, officials said.

Officials said Governor Emmylou Mendoza and six provincial board members were cited for their programs that benefitted their constituents.

“The provincial government of Cotabato will always be your partner for peace and development,” Mendoza said.

Major General Anthony Alcantara, the division commander, praised Mendoza and vowed to work closely with the provincial government.

“We affirm our commitment to promote and maintain peace in Central Mindanao, especially in Cotabato,” Alcantara said. (Mindanao Examiner)
