ILIGAN CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 6, 2010) – Eight people had died after a fire broke out early Saturday in a grocery store in the southern Philippine city of Cagayan de Oro, reports said.
Radio reports also said that several people were injured as they escaped from the fire that quickly spread on the two-storey building that houses an apartment on the second level.
It was unknown whether the fire was cause by an electrical faulty wiring or deliberately set. Authorities said the fire that broke out at around 2:30 a.m. and that an investigation has began. (Mindanao Examiner)
