ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 10, 2011) – Police arrested five people, including a cop, who were implicated in the killing Monday of a civil employee inside a hotel in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines.
The shooting was triggered by a fistfight between the protagonists who were fighting over a vacant hotel room. Police said the victim Abdulhamin Bandahala was shot by one of the suspects after an altercation turned violent inside the Azenith Royal Hotel.
Bandahala was said to be working for the Ports Management Authority in the Muslim autonomous region in Mindanao. Other reports said the man was connected with the Land Transportation Office. (Mindanao Examiner)
