Dipolog City Police named one of the best in Philippines


DIPOLOG CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / July 7, 2011) - The Dipolog City police station is now among the country’s best, according to a recent assessment of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The evaluation was part of an annual assessment by the PNP on all police stations in the country.

Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo Jr, head of the Field Evaluation and Validation for Unit Award, said the local police station is now among the top three "Best Component City Police Stations" in the country. The other contenders for the award are San Fernando City Police Station in La Union province and Mati City Police Station in Davao del Sur province.

Garbo said that the standard criteria set by the PNP as basis for judging included the Administrative and Operational Concern and the performance of the police station.

The Best City Police Station which will receive plaque and supplies from the PNP will be known during the 20th Anniversary on August 8. (Alfonso T. Ruda)
