Cebu Pacific offers 'One Peso' seat sale

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 17, 2011) - The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB), is holding a one-peso seat sale on all flights to and from Cebu from August 18-20 or until seats last for travel from October 1 to December 14, 2011.

“All roads lead to Cebu, one of Cebu Pacific’s main hubs in Central Philippines. Its geographic location and CEB’s trademark low fares make it easy for passengers to take inter-island flights from Cebu for their leisure or business travel,” CEB Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog said in a statement sent to the Mindanao Examiner.

“CEB operates the most flights, routes and destinations from Cebu, and we carry the most number of passengers. Our rock-bottom fares encourage guests who usually travel by bus and ferry to travel by air instead, increasing passenger convenience and time spent at the destination. We will keep on boosting Cebu’s air passenger traffic, especially with seat sales such as one peso,” she added.

The one peso fare is available on flights from Cebu to and from the following destinations: Manila, Bacolod, Boracay (Caticlan), Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Clark, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Surigao, Tacloban or Zamboanga.

CEB said it is also offering P288 seats from Davao to Cagayan de Oro, and from Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi, as well as P488 seats from Cagayan de Oro to Iloilo.

Leisure routes from Manila are also up for grabs for only P788. Passengers can buy P788 seats from Manila to Boracay (Caticlan), Coron (Busuanga), Dumaguete, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa or Roxas.

CEB has slashed as much as 35% on its Singapore flights from Manila, Cebu or Clark with a P1,299 seat sale fare. CEB flies to Singapore 32 times weekly from Manila, and daily from Cebu and Clark.

Passengers can also buy P1,499 seats from Manila to Brunei or Kuala Lumpur, a reduction of as much as 57% compared to CEB’s year-round low fares.

Passengers with check-in luggage may avail of prepaid baggage allowance, for travel savings as much as 63% on domestic and 72% on international flights. The seat sale fare is exclusive of government tax and fuel surcharge.

CEB currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 15 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. By the end of 2011, CEB will be operating a fleet of 37 aircraft – with an average age of less than 3.5 years – one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the world.

Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 23 Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders, and 2 Airbus A320 aircraft on operating lease agreements.(Mindanao Examiner)

Cebu Pacific's can boost domestic tourism around the country although some of my friends said that the 1 peso seat sale is matched with a 500 pesos airport tax.
