KIDAPAWAN CITY (Carlos Bautista / 12 Apr) North Cotabato will be hosting the 1st of two Mindanao Amateur Boxing Trainers' Training Seminar Workshops on April 17-21 at the rooftop of the Gov. Rosario P. Diaz building in Kidapawan City.
The training, which will be supervised by Cuban coach Honorato Espinosa, aims to provide a comprehensive lecture and training on modern boxing techniques and skills, as well as proper training and coaching strategies.
This 5-day live-in training is a program of the Governors' National Amateur Boxing Circuit (GNABC) of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) which aims to produce the country's first-ever gold medal in Olympic boxing.
The training which comes in three phases will have the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao regions for its 1st phase.
In the 1st phase or the regional comprehensive coaches' training, a representative of at least three is required from the participating provinces.
In the 2nd phase, these trained coaches will in turn supervise the training which will be conducted in the provincial level.
Meanwhile in phase 3, the trained provincial coaches will conduct the same training at the municipalities and the villages.
Participating provinces in the initial training include Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu and Tawi-tawi.
A registration fee of P2,500.00 per participant will be collected to cover expenses in certificate and training manual among others.
The 2nd Mindanao training is set on April 24-28. This will be hosted by either Oriental Negros Governor George P. Arnaiz or Davao del Norte Congressman Antonio R. Floirendo, Jr.
