Police Detains Japanese Man For Mauling Wife In Southern Philippines

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / 1 June) – Philippine authorities jailed a Japanese man after his Filipino wife accused him of mauling her inside the apartment in Cagayan de Oro City in the southern region of Mindanao.

Police said the 64-year old Kijusi Miura was arrested late Thursday in the family home in the village of Bulua. His wife, Liza Miura, told policemen that she was beaten up by the Japanese who went home drank.

Police said the woman was accompanied by her sister, Myrna Dayuhag, and sought help.

The victim told police investigators that the Japanese always beat her up every time he was drank. She said she was always being mauled for no apparent reason at all.

Police said it would file charges against the Japanese man. It gave no details about the foreigner and the woman did not say how long they have been married or staying together. (Romy Bwaga)
