For the first time in many years, this dirt road in Sulu’s Talipao town is finally being cemented as part of many infrastructure and development projects implemented by Governor Sakur Tan. Workers are also repairing a drainage system in Jolo town. A tornado hit a mountain side in February, uprooting trees and eroded a huge portion of the vegetation that caused flooding in Jolo. President Gloria Arroyo and ARMM Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan vowed to help Tan develop Sulu province into a new economic gateway in Southern Philippines. (ARMM)
