Mindanao Peoples Caucus, Wife Of Kidnapped University Professor Issue Statement

In behalf of the Mindanao Peoples Caucus (MPC) and the family of Professor Octavio Dinampo, we would like to inform the public that as of thiswriting, he has not returned home yet.

We categorically deny media reports that he has already been released and on that matter "release alone" leaving behind Ms. Ces Drilon and her two camera crew still incaptive.

We find this report very disturbing and could only complicate analready confusing situation.
We appeal to all law enforcers and our leaders to avoid victim-blaming. Obviously, this will not expedite the release of the kidnap victims. Letus treat them with compassion and the respect that they rightly deserve.

Salaam to all the families whom we share the grief and agony of waitingfor the coming home of their loved ones. We pray for peace in the heartsof their captors so that they will finally allow them to return home atthe soonest time possible.

Mary Ann M. Arnado
Secretary-General

Hainatul Octavio
Wife of Professor Octavio Dinampo
