MANILA, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / June 7, 2008) – A Philippine movie action star, Rudy Fernandez, died on Saturday after battling cancer.
The 55-year old Fernandez, who starred in blockbuster films Baby Ama and Victor Corpuz among other movies, died from periampullary cancer after battling the deadly disease for years.
His remains were brought to the Heritage Park in Taguig City.
Periampullary cancer forms near the ampulla of Vater, an enlargement of the ducts from the liver and pancreas where they join and enter the small intestine.
