TAWI-TAWI, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / May 20, 2010) – The Philippines’ Commission on Elections said the governor of the southern province of Tawi-Tawi, Sadikul Sahali, has won the recent polls against two rivals.
Sahali’s victory in the May 10 general elections was the third and the politician, one of the most influential in Tawi-Tawi, thanked his supporters for their trust and vowed to pursue more development projects in the impoverished province, one of five under the Muslim autonomous region.
“I am so happy and grateful that the people had chosen me again. We will continue our many infra and development projects in Tawi-Tawi and make this beautiful and peaceful province a gateway to for our Southeast Asian neighbors and investors,” he told the Mindanao Examiner. (Becky de Asis)
