ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 25, 2011) – Gunmen opened fire on a police patrol in Zamboanga City in Mindanao, but there were no reports of casualties or injuries, officials said Friday.
Officials said the police were pursuing two motorcycle gunmen late Thursday in the village of Ayala when they came under fire.
Three bullets fired by gunmen hit the police jeep.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack, but officials suspect the shooting was connected to an earlier police raid that led to the recovery of illegal weapons in a nearby area. (Mindanao Examiner)
