ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 3, 2011) – Police arrested the driver of a local politician after he allegedly shot and wounded three people, including a four-year old child, in a fit of rage in Zamboanga City in Mindanao.
Roque Cadiz, driver of Councilor Jaime Cabato, was arrested late Friday in the village of San Jose Gusu. Reports said Cadiz fired his .45-caliber pistol after failing to find the man who earlier stabbed and wounded his brother.
Policemen, who were near the area, responded to the burst of gunfire and arrested Cadiz. It was not immediately known whether Cadiz was carrying an unlicensed gun or not.
The politician was not immediately available to make a statement. (Mindanao Examiner)
