A Muslim village sits on the foot of the historic Bud (Mount) Dajo in Jolo island in the Sulu Archipelago in the southern Philippines.U.S. and Philippine troops are currently holding joint amphibious training off the Sulu Archipelago. U.S. forces under the command of Major General Leonard Wood, a naval detachment comprising 540 soldiers, along with a detachment of native constabulary, armed with artillery and small firearms, attacked a village hidden in the crater of the dormant volcano Bud Dajo on March 10, 1906.
