MANILA, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 14, 2010) – A former lawmaker implicated in a deadly bombing at the Philippine Congress three years ago was ordered arrested to answer charges against him, reports said on Saturday.

Three people were killed in the attack which police claimed targeted Representative Wahab Akbar, who was among those who died in the blast in November 2007.

Reports said an arrest warrant has been issued against Akbar’s political foe, Abdulgani Salapuddin, alias Gerry Salapuddin.

Salapuddin, a former Moro rebel leader, previously denied all accusations against him. His whereabouts were unknown, but he had been spotted several times in his home in Basilan province. (Mindanao Examiner)
