GENERAL SANTOS CITY (Juan Magtanggol / 08 Sept) Police on Friday announced the arrest of two brothers implicated in the grenade attack in the southern Philippine port city of General Santos that left 2 people dead and four more wounded.

The duo, police said, were both teenage Muslims tagged by witnesses as behind the blast on a market late Thursday. "They were implicated in the blast. We have witnesses pointing to them," said Supt. Alfredo Toroctocon, the local police chief.

Police gave no other details about the two suspects, but the attack was believed connected to a feud between two groups of traders at the market. Toroctocon said: "We see rivalry between traders here as the probable motive behind the attack."

The blast occurred during rush hour when many people were returning home from work.
