Wanted Terror Man Captured In South RP

BASILAN (Mindanao Examiner / 12 Mar) – The Philippine military arrested a suspected member of the terror group, Abu Sayyaf, wanted for kidnappings and killings of Christian farmers in Basilan island, south of Zamboanga City.

The military said Abu Usman was nabbed over the weekend at a port area in Basilan’s Isabela City. Usman is wanted for the beheading of a dozen farmers his group seized from a coconut plantation in Lamitan town in June 2001.

Usman is currently being investigated at a military base in Zamboanga City.

The military did not give additional details about Usman, except that he is included in the government’s order of battle. (Juley Reyes and Juan Magtanggol)
