MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / 17 Jun) – Nagmatigas ang Armed Forces na hindi nito papayagan si detained Senator Antonio Trillanes na makadalo sa mga pagdinig at sesyon ng Mataas na Kapulungan.
Sinabi ni Lt. Col. Jose Feliciano Loi na kung ang pagbabatayan ay ang kaso ni dating Zamboanga del Norte Rep. Romeo Jalosjos, ay tiyak naman na mahihirapan si Trillanes na maging aktibo sa Senado.
"I believe there is jurisprudence… Take the classical case of Congressman Jalosjos, he was even re-elected as congressman and yet there was this conviction of rape…Although re-elected as congressman, he cannot attend the session in Congress. Probably, that will also apply to the good senator-elect Sonny Trillanes," punto ni Loi.
Tinukoy pa ni Loi na sa ilalim ng Articles of War, hindi pinahihintulutan sa military court ang pagpipyansa para sa pansamantalang paglaya. "He may not be allowed to attend the sessions before the Senate if there is no court order or there is no approval from the GCM (general court martial)," dagdag nito.
Si Trillanes ay nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Article of War 96 or conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman kaugnay sa nabigong kudeta noong Hulyo 2003 at kasalukuyang nakaditine sa Marine headquarters sa Fort Bonifacio, Makati City.
Sinabi pa ng military lawyer na wala sa probisyon ng Articles of War na nagbibigay sa mga detinido ng temporary pass. "There is none. Once you are charged before a court martial, you are restricted to quarters. So if you are restricted to quarters, how can you attend the proceedings?," diin nito. (Juley Reyes)
